  • Industry: Government Sanctioned Project

Challenge

Developing a smart industrial city from the ground up requires a robust technology framework capable of supporting multiple urban functions while ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Bidkin required a comprehensive digital infrastructure ecosystem to support future growth, industrial activities, and citizen-centric services.

The project involved implementing technology solutions across a large geographic area while ensuring seamless connectivity, centralized management, and integration of multiple smart city applications. Establishing a reliable network backbone, managing large volumes of data generated through surveillance systems, and enabling real-time monitoring were key requirements.

The city also required advanced security and traffic management solutions to improve safety, enhance monitoring capabilities, and support efficient movement of vehicles and people. A scalable infrastructure model was needed to accommodate future expansion and integration of additional smart city applications.

Scope

The Bidkin Smart City Project was a significant urban infrastructure initiative aimed at developing a digitally enabled, connected, and technology-driven industrial smart city ecosystem in Maharashtra. Located near Aurangabad and part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), Bidkin is being developed as a future-ready industrial hub focused on supporting economic growth through modern infrastructure and intelligent urban solutions.

Allied Digital, in consortium with KEC (RPG Group company), was awarded the Smart City project for Bidkin, with responsibility for implementing and managing critical technology infrastructure. The project involved the deployment of Data Centre infrastructure, active networking infrastructure, public Wi-Fi, CCTV surveillance systems, Automatic Traffic Counter and Classification Systems (ATCC), Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems, and other smart city technology solutions.

The engagement focused on building a strong digital backbone to support smart governance, improve security, enhance connectivity, and enable efficient management of city operations. Through integrated technologies, automation, and centralized monitoring capabilities, Allied Digital helped establish the foundation for a connected and intelligent industrial smart city.

Solution & Highlights

As part of the consortium delivering the Bidkin Smart City Project, Allied Digital implemented a comprehensive technology framework covering core infrastructure, surveillance, connectivity, and intelligent city management solutions.

The solution included the design, implementation, and operations support of the Data Centre and active networking infrastructure required to support smart city applications. Allied Digital established the underlying digital infrastructure to enable reliable connectivity, centralized data management, and efficient operation of various technology platforms.

A city-wide surveillance ecosystem was deployed through CCTV cameras and associated monitoring infrastructure to enhance security and enable real-time visibility across important locations. The solution also included Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems to support intelligent vehicle monitoring and security applications.

To improve traffic management capabilities, Allied Digital implemented Automatic Traffic Counter and Classification Systems (ATCC), enabling better understanding of traffic patterns and supporting data-driven urban mobility management. Public Wi-Fi infrastructure was also deployed to enhance digital connectivity and improve access to technology services.

The project was supported through long-term operations and maintenance services, ensuring sustained performance, reliability, and optimization of the deployed smart city infrastructure. The implementation approach leveraged Allied Digital’s experience as a Master Systems Integrator in delivering large-scale smart city projects across India.

Benefits

The Bidkin Smart City Project enabled the creation of a strong digital foundation to support efficient urban management, enhanced connectivity, and improved security capabilities. The implementation of integrated technology solutions helped establish a scalable ecosystem capable of supporting future smart city initiatives and industrial development.

The deployment of advanced surveillance, networking, and data infrastructure enhanced operational visibility and enabled more effective management of city resources. Smart mobility solutions such as traffic monitoring and vehicle recognition systems contributed towards improved transportation management and better urban planning.

Through this engagement, Allied Digital demonstrated its capability to deliver end-to-end smart city solutions by combining infrastructure expertise, digital engineering capabilities, IoT-enabled technologies, and operational support. The project reflects Allied Digital’s role in enabling intelligent, connected, and sustainable urban ecosystems through technology-led transformation.
